In a 2017 Harvard Business Review article, John D. Halamka, MD, CIO at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and his colleagues make the case for how blockchain technology can transform the use of electronic health records. “Blockchain for health care is very early in its lifecycle, but it has the potential to standardize secure data exchange in a less burdensome way than previous approaches,” they conclude.
